I workout...

I have been in a funk lately... I just have not felt like doing much. I took a nap on my lunch break today and did not work out. I know I should have but I was tired. Well at about 4:30 my old workout partner text me and asked me if I had worked out today and when I told her that I took a nap she told me to get my butt in gear and go workout when I got off. So I got off work at 7 and went to the gym to workout! Remind you this is the first time in a week I have stepped foot in the gym. I was not excited when I started I was pretty slow but by the time I was done I felt amazing!!

This is what I look like when I got home. (I was a hott mess but felt great) Also can you see the babies fingerprints all over...maybe I should wash that off.

I then called my nephew Caden and asked him how his first day of preschool went. He said he had fun with his friends but he didn't like the school part and they made him lay down for 40 thousand hours according to him :) I asked if he will go back on Wednesday and he said he could fit it in his schedule.

Babysitting for the night

Last night I decided that I would watch my one year old niece and 1 & 4 year old nephews to give mys sister and brother-in-law a break for the evening.

What was I thinking 3 kids under the age of 5 all by myself all night.....We did have fun tho. We had taco's for supper and Ice Cream for snack. All three of them were passed out before 10:30 so that was great and even better news they all slept thought the night!!

They all woke up around 8:30 and I would say that is sleeping in. (I usually get up for work at 5:30) We played for a bit and took a walk. Once we got back from our walk the babies laid down for a nap and Caden and I got to work on making a gift for his teacher for the first day of preschool.

Here he is working on the clipboard.

He just loves to craft with aunt Rachael!

He wanted to take a picture of me helping him.

This is what the finished product looked like!

After the babies woke up and we got done with our craft we went to the park to have a Picnic!!

All and all we had a great day and I was happy to get to spend the day with them!!

Date night and Great savings!

Today I went and got my hair "did" as my sister would say. I was looking for something fresh and new. I have lost almost 10 lbs (go me) and I wanted to do something nice for me. I set off to pinterest to find a new do. I found this cute hair style.
I think it turned out pretty good!! It looks a little more red in this picture but it is because of the way the sun is hitting it.

Well after I got my hair done I felt super cute and wanted to go on a date with my hubby. I called him and told him we should go for Mexican for dinner. He agreed and we went for a super yummy dinner.
This is my burrito Mexico (no sauce and no onion) Just the way I like it.

After dinner we went to none other than....you guessed it Walmart. No date night would be complete without a trip to Walmart to get a few groceries. I was not very prepared to go shopping because I didn't even bring my coupon book. We only went to get lunch meat, eggs, butter, and peanut butter. Brian wanted shaved ham and I wanted shaved turkey so we were just going to get a little of each at the deli counter. We were quite surprised when we were waiting in line to get our meat and the lady in front of us was getting turkey and it was a dollar a pound!!! Yes turkey that is usually $6.24/lb. was now $1/lb. We looked at each other and were like sweet!!! We got 5lbs of turkey and the guy that was shaving the turkey told us the other ham that was on sale for the same price also! Needless to say we loaded up on turkey and ham.
This is all the meat we brought home. We got out our trusty old food saver system and went to work on wrapping the meat. After it was all said and done we spent $41.36 at Walmart and had a savings of $71.46!!!!!!!! I was so happy.

When we got done wrapping all that meat we sat done and ate a slice of Carmel Apple pie that I just happened to pick up while Brian was waiting for the guy to cut our meat. It hit the spot and was a good ending to a good "Date Night"

Yummy Yummy Banana Bread

Today at work I had about a dozen banana's that were going bad and my boss was going to throw them away but I stopped him. I had the perfect recipe to make banana bread! I got home and got out the old trusty cookbook.
(You know when a recipe is good when the cookbook page looks like this)

I got out all the ingredients....thank goodness I had all of them because most of the time I am missing one or more.

              Banana Bread:
1/2 c. butter                      2 c. flour
1 c. sugar                         1/2 tsp. salt
2 eggs                              1 tsp. baking soda
3 very ripe bananas         1 1/4 c. pecans (optional)

I creamed the butter and sugar. Then added the eggs and banana's. I beat that well.

In a separate bowl I mixed the flour, salt, and soda.

I then decided to use that Handy little thing-magig that comes with your kitchen aid mixer that you put on when you are mixing and adding ingredients and it lets it not go all over your kitchen. (This is the first time I have used that thing-magig) You know what?? It works pretty good...why have I not been using this all the time?
Mix together everything and then put in a greased loaf pan and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes or so.

When it is all baked it should look something like this. Don't you just love the kitty towel it is sitting on? It came from Brian's grandma. She made these for us before she passed away so we love them and use them only for special occasions.

I made four loves of these. One for a co-worker, a friend and her hubby, one of our favorite neighbors, and us!

I hope you enjoy this post. This is one of our favorite recipes and I try to make it at least once a month.

Pallet project

My sister LuAnn had her 26th Birthday yesterday. Last year she had a crappy birthday because she was sitting in a hospital room all day waiting for the babies to be born healthy. She didn't get to go out and get sister mani & pedi's so this year I wanted to give her something special. I know she was wanting to do some decorations in her living room so I made her a shelf with some pictures and other nick knacks.

I got the idea from pinterest like I get a lot of my ideas. Here is the link for where I got the original idea. http://thehandmadehomemaker.blogspot.com (got to give credit where credit is due)

I picked the blue color because it is so pretty. What do you think of it??

What a wonderful weekend

This weekend was busy but great!!!

Friday work could not get over soon enough. We went over to the casino and met a great couple of friends there. Dinner was good we had to wait for a bit but the time went fast when we were talking with friends. After we ate we headed down to the casino! I played a couple of different machines then I went on too play the triple 7's machine and I won "big" Well I would call it big. In one pull I won $45 bucks. I walked away up $90 for the night so it was a good night.

Saturday morning we woke up and went to breakfast at this little diner with our friends. I had eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns. They were so yummy!! After breakfast Brian and I headed home and started to get ready for Conner and Carly's first birthday party. The birthday party was cowboy/cowgirl them and we had a blast!! The day ended sitting around a campfire. Perfect ending to a wonderful day.

This morning er rather this afternoon I woke up (I had a long day yesterday with the party) Brian and I headed over to mom and dads and we had Sunday dinner. After dinner we came home and did some cleaning....I know fun right. Now we are just chilling out and not doing much for the rest of the day. I have BLT'S on the menu for tonight.

This was a great weekend and I am so glad I had it off so I could spend a long needed weekend with friends and family.

For the babies birthday I made scrapbooks for them here are some of the pics of the book.

Taco!

Today did not start off the best. I stayed up late last night and then 5:30 came too early this morning. Yuck! When I got to work at the daycare the kids were crazy today. They were fighting, yelling, and throwing toys! Crazy kids. I am so so glad I only work 6-9 at the daycare. When I got off at one from the gas station I had to head to town. I needed to get medicine and groceries before I went in I was checking to make sure I had my insurance med card.....Well I look in my purse and guess what I didn't have my billfold. No check book no nothing!!! I did a little freaking out then I called Brian and told him I am so stupid for forgetting my billfold at home. He laughed at me for freaking out and almost crying over this stupid thing. After he got done laughing he then reminded me that we bank in town and I could just go in and get cash....Why didn't I think of that!! I got all my shopping done and headed home. I went back to work and when I got home my day got better! Brian made taco's!!!!!! I think taco's is one of my favorite foods. He had everything ready and I was so good. I even had a strawberry crush to wash it down.

This is my yummy dinner complaints of Chef Brian!!

I am sorry that my pic is crappy and turned the wrong way. I am trying to fix it.

Dear Grandma

Dear Grandma-
Today I thought of you at first it was happy thoughts like how you showed me how to make a pie. How you always said that it does not matter who you marry as long as it is someone who you love and who treats you right. How you taught me that I should always treat people the way I would like to be treated.
I had a great time remembering all the times I stayed at your house when I was younger and how I would go in with you to grandpa's eyeglass shop and pretend I was the Secretary and would color for hours and try on all the glasses. I remember feeding and watering the two pink flamingos down by your bird bath (you got so mad when I would waste all the water just playing in it but you never told me that I had to stop) I remember playing with dolls and having you help me rock my babies to sleep.
As I got older I had more great memories like that summer you lived with us until your apartment was ready. The special gift you gave me for my 18th birthday (the gold ring your grandmother gave you for your 18th birthday) I still think of you when I wear that ring. I remember you always giving me coupons and a list to get your groceries when I got off work in town. I remember the way you would always have pop and homemade cookies at your house ALWAYS!

It makes me sad to think that you are gone and you never got to be at our wedding or see our house become our home.I am glad you got to meet Brian because he is a wonderful man who treats em with respect and love.  I am sad that you will never get the chance to meet our children when we have them. They will never get the chance to meet the amazing woman who tough me so much. They will never have the chance for Grandma Hilda to call them sweet pea or hold and rock them in your arms.
This makes me so sad and teary eyed but I know you are in a better place now and I know you are keeping an eye on all of us down here. I also know that you are doing an amazing job up in heaven taking care of our 4 little babies that we were not able to keep with us. I know you are holding all of them and giving them all big hugs. I love and miss you so much Grandma.

XOXO
Rachael
